Lillie Ruth Smith Walker, 86, of Chattanooga, gained her wings on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in a Gwinnett, Georgia hospital.

She was born June 15, 1934, in West Point, Ga., to the late Tom and Minnie Moss Patillo.  Lillie was a devoted member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and the Widow’s Harvest Ministries.  She retired from the Hamilton County Nursing Home in 2010.  Lillie was a hard-worker and provided for many people. She was affectionately known as the neighborhood frozen-lady.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Walker; son, Luther Smith, Jr.; great-grandson, Antonio Smith, Sr; great-great-grandson, Antonio Smith, Jr.; five brothers, five sisters; and very special niece and nephew, WillieMae Holland and Kenneth Patillo. 

She has left many wonderful memories to be cherished by her daughters, Sandra Smith and Diann Smith; grandchildren, Derick Smith, Edrick Smith, Anthony Smith, Sr., LuTisha Nash, Elijah Nash, and Timwana Boyd; 32 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 

Lillie will lie in state on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. A family service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Alonzo Noble as the eulogist. 

Burial will be on Monday, Dec. 7, at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
