Claudie Thrasher
Claudie Thrasher, 99, of Chattanooga, transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 26, 2020 in a local hospital.
She was born to the late Claude and Rosellar Williams in Newnan, Ga., on June 13, 1921. She was a member of Antioch Primitive Baptist Church.
Claudie was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thrasher; sisters, Maude (James) Williams and twin sister, Nina (John) Brooks; brothers, Grady, Robert, Johnny, Frank, and Eugene Williams; daughters, Evangelist Carolyn (Auther) Thomas and Joyce (Alphonso) Vinson; son-in-law, Albert Sims.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Sims; son, Johnny Thrasher; grandchildren, Dr. LeAndrea (Gerald) Ware, all of Chattanooga, Leavon (Ingrid) Thrasher of Atlanta, GA, and Shiketra Thrasher of Chattanooga; 12 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; dear friends, Jimmy, Jean, and Hollywood; other family and friends.
Claudie will lie in state on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be on Monday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Kenneth Ware as the eulogist.
