Barbara “Louise” Moore Picklesimer, 84, of Harrison Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

Born on June 18, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Albert Lee Moore and Blanche Edith Bright Moore.  Christ was the focus of her life.  She was a longtime member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Harrison, as well as a member of the Friendship Sunday School class.  Louise was one of the original directors of the Chattanooga Prison and Prevention Ministries, and served on the board for many years.  She was a 1954 graduate of Tyner High School, where she was valedictorian of her class and a super-superlative.  Louise was a planner for the annual reunions of the “fifties decade” classes of Tyner High School.  She was a certified professional assistant, employed for many years at the International Department of Chattem, also having worked at the Atlas Chemical Plant (TNT Plant), Top Flight, Inc., and Fowler Brothers.  Louise was a very creative person who liked gardening, interior design, and collecting.  She enjoyed preparing lovely flower arrangements for the altar of her church for special events.  She also liked to travel, and made several European trips with her sisters.  Louise was a wonderful, caring Christian, whose loving influence extended to her family and her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyle Lee Picklesimer, Sr.; parents, Albert and Edith Moore; brothers, Clarence Moore, Troy Moore, and Charles G. Moore; sisters, Anna Lea Hise, and Dewey Mae “Jerry” Hanning.

Louise is survived by her son, Hoyle Lee Picklesimer, Jr., and daughter, Lynn (Johnny) Farley of Harrison, Tenn; grandsons, Hoyle Picklesimer, III of Birchwood, and Joshua Farley of Ooltewah (of which she was a proud grandmother); sister, Johnnie Sue Van Gelderen of Chattanooga; brother-in-law, Larry Renn Hise of Rising Fawn, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 30, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Dr. David Bragg and Pastor Ronnie Gilbert officiating.
