Cass Fowler (# 9) of Woodstock came to the North Georgia Speedway Saturday night and took the Late Model feature over Signal Mountain's Heath Hindman. Cleveland's Lamar Scoggins was 6th and Soddy Daisy's Chuck Christopher was 10th overall.
Eli Beets of Knoxville won the Crate Late Model race over local fan-favorite Chip Brindle. Cade Walston and Zack Littleton won their Beginner 602 Sportsman features. Ringgold racer Greg Tinker won the A-Hobby feature over Cleveland's Richard Dixon.
Chickamauga's Dale McDowell (# 17M) is on the pole in Phenix City, Al. near the Columbus, Ga. border today for the 46th annual National 100 at East Alabama Motor Speedway. McDowell won the $3,000 Pole Award narrowly over Alabama's Sam Seawright. The pair will share the front row for the Sunday evening $15,000 100 lapper.
McDowell has won the race twice in his storied career. Michael Courtney of Knoxville pocketed the $2,250 in the Southern Mod4 division feature Saturday at EAMS. Maryville's Jason Welshan (# 01) won a warm-up 604/Crate race Saturday in Bulls Gap, Tn., north of Knoxville. Eddie King Jr III (# 39) won the Late Model feature Saturday at Crossville Speedway on the Cumberland Plateau.
