Elizabeth Sales Elliott, daughter of the late Jesse Sales, Sr., and Pearl Lee Roberts was born on Wednesday, January 5, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. On Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, she gained her wings at Memorial Hospital.
Elizabeth acquired her education in the Chattanooga Public School System where she received her diploma from Howard High School in the class of 1973. She continued her studies at Cleveland State Community College and earned an associate's degree in Business Administration. Liz, as she was affectionately called, enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her creator.
She was a faithful member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as leader of the C.A.R.E. Ministry and a member of the Priscilla Circle. Elizabeth retired from Erlanger Medical Center, where she worked as an Executive Assistant, after 35 years of service.
Liz was preceded in death by her father and mother; two sisters, Margaret Roberts, and Barbara Ann Brabson; three brothers, Bobby Roberts, Jessie Sales, and Kenneth Sales.
Precious memories will be cherished by husband, Charles Edward Elliott; two sons, Timothy Sales and Jeffery Elliott; two daughters, Audrey Elliott and Sytira Elliott; fourteen grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Patton, and Gloria Ann Elliott (Gerald Germany); three brothers-in-law, Harold Elliott, Mitchell Elliott, and David Elliott; special friends, Clarissa Atkins and James Stockdale, Jr.; a host of nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends.
Elizabeth will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her smile and compassion for others.
A public viewing will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
