Chattanooga City Councilman Darrin Ledford (District 4) on Wednesday announced his re-election campaign advisory committee made up of representatives from all corners of the district.
Councilman Ledford released the following statement:
"I am delighted to announce my re-election advisory committee from within District 4: Mitch Patel, Alan Reimann, Dr. John Schaerer, Jennifer and Philip Clay, Scott McColpin, Gordon Parker, John Shadden, Jonathan Mason, Hiren Desai, Katie Morgan, Joe Schultz, Emily Goldberg, Matt Winn, Ellen Smith, Claudio Costa, Shawn Whitfield, Daniel Johnston, Pam Garrett, and Sheriff Jim Hammond.
"I am very humbled to have many residents reach out to me since announcing my re-election candidacy. Residents from the border with Georgia to the Summit area, and Concord to Morris Hill, have asked how to help keep me on the job. The outpour of affection is very special to my family and me; I have poured my heart into service and rolled up my sleeves to work towards advocating and echoing the voice of our community.
"Placing priorities on increased infrastructure spending through road paving, strengthening the focus on residential zoning, and putting my deep history and relationships to work for the entire district's benefit yielded improvements from day one of my term. That history includes graduating from UTC, starting my small business of 23-years, raising a family in East Brainerd, and countless endeavors supporting our non-profits and community events over my 32-years in Chattanooga.
"A city council representative's role is to work for the entire district's benefit, never for personal or professional opportunities. As a lawmaker, that will remain a priority for me including paramount support for all of our first responders. I will continue to find ways as allowed by our city charter to help my district thrive and meet the challenges we face. Understanding how our city works through intense study and experience on the council is the best way to influence needed improvements. I intend to finish vital work, including a city and district-wide zoning assessment and infrastructure projects underway, including a continued focus on the tornado-affected area. By working together with experience on the city council and a new administration, our district has the best chance to attain the needed results District 4 needs in recovery efforts. I am ready to continue putting this experience and history to work for our city and our community, building upon the progress already attained while never losing sight of ongoing projects and concerns."
The city of Chattanooga election is scheduled for March 2, 2021
