Please Support The S. M. Robertson Police And Fire Christmas Fund

  • Wednesday, December 2, 2020

2020 has been quite the year, with a pandemic, more time at home than any of us anticipated, social distancing, masks, political elections, so much divisiveness  . . . and Signal Mountain’s 101st birthday. While some in our country have questioned the need for police departments, hopefully we in the Signal Mountain community don’t take for granted the dedication, courage, and sacrificial commitment with which the police and fire teams serve our community. As we reflect on the men and women, families, and generations who have invested in the community in which we are fortunate to live, work, and play, we are thankful for the 46 police and fire personnel who protect us every day.

About 50 years ago, my grandfather, Silas M. Robertson, Jr., started the Signal Mountain Police & Fire Christmas Fund. After his passing in 2004 and in light of his legacy of giving and of loving our community, we named the fund the S. M. Robertson Police & Fire Christmas Fund. This is a time for the citizens of Signal Mountain to express our thanks by contributing to a Christmas Fund, which is divided among the police and fire personnel on Christmas Eve.

Please join me in showing our overwhelming support for these men and women. As Christmas is a time to rejoice with family and friends and a time to thank God for our many blessings, even in a year like 2020, please consider making a contribution as part of your year-end giving.

You can put your contribution in a box located at the Police Station or mail a check (payable to the S. M. Robertson Police & Fire Christmas Fund) to the Police Department, 1111 Ridgeway Avenue, Signal Mountain, TN 37377 or online via PayPal (paypal.me/policefirechristmas) or
Venmo (venmo.com/SMRobertson-PoliceFireChristma)

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, your police officers and firefighters join me in wishing your family a safe and happy Christmas season and hopefully a less eventful 2021.
