Glenda Walker
Glenda Walker, 77, of Chattanooga, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones.
Glenda graduated from East Ridge High School and enjoyed being captain of the basketball team and a cheerleader. After graduation, she played softball, and only played first base for many years. Glenda retired from K-Mart after 31 years and she loved all her friends that she made there over the years. The family would like to thank everyone for all of their texts, phone calls, and prayers over the last few months. It meant a lot to them.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Wilson of Chattanooga; father, Estel Wilson; grandmother, Zelma (Luke) Reeves; mamaw, Percy Wilson; grandfather, William Wilson and sister, Elaine Erby.
Glenda is survived by her husband of 31 years, Art Walker, daughter, Susan Anderson; stepdaughter, Charlene Lowry of Tarpon Springs, FL; step-granddaughters, Jamie and Kristen Lowery, also of Tarpon Springs, FL; sisters, Gloria Wilson, and Vada (Billy) Johnson, Carol O’Kelly; brother, Terry Wilson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Last but not least, her two dogs, Teddy and Sugar.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home at Highway 58. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Jeff Kesley officiating.
The family would also like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff at Amedisys Home Health Care.
