Laura Jean Hysinger, 88, passed from this earthly home to her heavenly home on November 29, 2020.
She loved gardening and tending to her flowers. She loved music, especially Southern Gospel, and she played the piano. She was a little lady with a big heart and infectious laugh. She loved to travel and spend time with her grandchildren. She was retired from Duracell. She faithfully attended Hopewell Church of God, until her declining health.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Hysinger. Also preceding her were her father and mother, Rando and Willie Mae Tinsley; her brothers, Norvin (Emma Lou) Tinsley and Lee Randall Tinsley; her brother and sisters-in-law, Charles (Mary Ruth) Hysinger and Dorothy (Tilman) Allison; her mother and father-in-law, Morgan and Ethel Hysinger; and son-in-law, Wayne Streifthau.
She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her children, Rhonda (Ken) Roark, Mitzi Streifthau, Labron (Lara) Hysinger and Donna (Jerry) Thompson.
She was loved and cherished by her grandchildren, Amy (James Jr.) Bandy, Jeremy Roark, Jennifer (Emmanuel) Awotula, Dustin (Ashely) Hysinger, Matt (Sara) Jones, Savannah (Caleb) Goodwin and Jeff Thompson; 13 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Delude; and sister-in-law, Sue (David) Fortner.
A graveside service will be on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, with Mr. George Warren officiating. The pallbearers are Jeremy Roark, Dustin Hysinger, Matt Jones, James Bandy, Jr., Mitchell Bandy and Dwight Tinsley.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that a memorial be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Gideons International.
