The Chattanooga Lookouts, who were on a list of possible minor league franchises to be cut, will say in the minor leagues.
The Cincinnati Reds plan to extend their working relationship with the local club.
Chattanooga will be one of 120 cities where minor league baseball will continue in a new alignment.
They are one of 120 teams that will be included in the new configuration of the minor leagues.
The Lookouts are still reviewing terms of the agreement.
However, managing owner Jason Freier said, “We’ve had professional baseball in Chattanooga since 1885 and we are thrilled to receive an invitation from the Cincinnati Reds that would keep affiliated baseball in the community.
“We would like to thank the Cincinnati Reds for their continued partnership and their commitment to Chattanooga.
We are also grateful to the Chattanooga community and Lookouts’ fans for their outstanding and steadfast support.”
The Lookouts earlier filed a lawsuit along with 14 other minor league teams facing the possible end of their operating agreements. It was filed in United States District Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
