A man who got into trouble twice via social media was sentenced on Monday to serve 92 months in federal prison.

Jeremy Wynn, 23, appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice. He earlier pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a weapon. His prior felonies include attempted aggravated robbery, reckless endangerment and possession of a dangerous weapon.

Police said Wynn and another man carjacked a vehicle in Chattanooga, then went Facebook Live a short time later in an incident Jan.

16, 2019.

Police first arrested 19-year-old Brandon Cannon, then officers used messaging to set up a marijuana deal with Wynn. He was found on Jan. 29 in a stolen red Honda Accord with 11 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a Sig handgun.

Authorities had used a covert Facebook account to live message with Wynn and set up a drug deal. When he arrived at the agreed location of a Parkridge Hospital parking lot investigators were set up in various locations in the lot. They converged on the vehicle. An agent who went up to the driver's side saw a gun within Wynn's reach.

In the carjacking incident, two men said they were on Fagan Street when two men approached them. They had guns and were demanding money. The pair stole a Dodge Charger from one of the victims.

Police monitoring Facebook later that day saw Cannon and Wynn in a video while riding in the stolen Dodge Charger.

Police said the Charger had some distinguishing features, including a vent-mounted air freshener and a car seat with the letters "RT" on it.

The men in the Facebook video were wearing the same clothes as had been described and one of them (Cannon) had a circular tattoo on his face as one of the victims had stated.
