Jimmy Owens
Daytona -- A $30,000 run from Thursday to Saturday night hit Newport, Tn., racer Jimmy Owens as the "O-Show" rallied for a third consecutive World of Outlaw Late Model series victory in the Dirtcar Nationals week long finale.
Passing Kyle Bronson for the lead with 10 laps remaining, the "Ramirez Motorsports, Boomtest Well Services, Redbone Fishing and Rentals, Reese Monument, Tommy Pope Construction, Power Rig, Red Line Oil, RynoAG, Keyser Manufacturing" sponsored racer stayed ahead of Canadian Ricky Weiss for the victory.
Florida's Bronson was third, Kentucky's Darrell Lannigan was fourth and Illinois' Brandon Sheppard was fifth.
Sheppard leaves Florida/Daytona with the WoOLM's series points lead with the group not racing again until March 6 when the tour rolls into Shelbyville, Tn., for a Friday night special event at Duck River Raceway Park just south of Nashville.
