Zula Vandergriff Ridley, 96, of Chattanooga, formerly of Bridgeport, Al., died Monday, February 17, 2020 in a Red Bank healthcare center.
The daughter of the late George Washington & Cora Edna Brown Vandergriff, she lived most of her life in Chattanooga, but was a Bridgeport, Alabama resident for over 20 years. She retired from DuPont in Chattanooga after over 30 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ridley, Sr.; infant son, James Hal Ridley; and siblings, Thelma Thompson, Elmo Vandergriff, Gladys McClendon, Lucy Hartman, Jo Swafford, Bobbie Tedder, Neva Rogers, Eva Vandergriff and George Vandergriff.
She is survived by her son, Jim Ridley, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Chattanooga, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, Feb. 20 from 4-8 p.m. Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg at 11:30 a.m. Central time on Friday, Feb. 21, with Brother Russ Maroon, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport, Al.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to A.J. and Eva with LifeCare of Red Bank, and to Joyce, Fadera and Rebecca at Hospice of Chattanooga for the exceptional care they provided to Mrs. Ridley.
