Cleveland State Golf concluded their opening match play at the Coastal Alabama Invitational at Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope, Ala. on Tuesday, placing ninth overall with a two-day total score of 638.
Wes Spillers was the Cougars’ top finisher, rallying with a second-day total of 75 to move into the top 30, finishing tied for 30th. Gage Brakebill, who led the Cougars after the first day with a score of 77, which tied his career-best for an individual round. He placed just behind Spillers, finishing tied for 35th.
The Cougars will be back in action on March 2 and 3, as they travel to Callaway Gardens Resort in Pinewood, Ga. to participate in the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational, which is hosted by Berry College. Stay tuned to cscougars.com for more about Golf’s 2020 spring campaign.
