Covenant's Moore Earns National Honor From D3baseball.com

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- After a stellar start to the season, Covenant baseball senior outfielder Tyler Moore was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week, for the period ending on Feb. 16, announced the website on Wednesday.

It is the first career national weekly award for Moore and he becomes the fifth Scot to land the honor from D3baseball.com in program history.

Moore, a senior from Stone Mountain, Ga., batted .636 (7-for-11) with a .692 on-base percentage, five runs scored, and three extra-base hits out of the leadoff spot for the Scots in a series win over Emory & Henry last weekend.
The senior was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored, and two walks in a 16-2 season-opening win last Friday before going a combined 5-for-8 with two doubles, three runs, and a stolen base in a doubleheader split on Saturday.

Moore is coming off a 2019 campaign that saw him hit .344 with 32 RBIs and 38 runs scored. He had hit streaks of 15 games and 13 games last season and has hit safely in six straight games dating back to the end of the 2019 season.

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its eighth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors.

Covenant (2-1) will open USA South play this weekend with a three-game series with Maryville at home. Game one is set for Friday at 2 p.m.
