The Chattanooga women's indoor track and field team will compete this weekend at the Southern Conference Championships hosted by VMI in Lexington, Va.
The competition begins Lead Day, Saturday morning with the Men's Heptathlon at 9:00 a.m. and the women's Pentathlon at 9:15 a.m.
The Mocs will compete in 11 different events including the 60 meter hurdles, 200 meter dash, Mile Run and the 5000 meter run as well as the long jump and Distance Medley Relay.
The running events will begin in the afternoon with the women's Mile.
Nicole Buehrle ranks 18th in the SoCon standings with a time of 5:07.86.
Freshman Madelyn Thompson is ranked 13th in the SoCon in the 60 meter hurdles and is entered in the long jump for UTC.. McKenzie Williamson is 19th among all SoCon athletes with a time of 7.95 in the 60 meter dash.
Chattanooga trio Abby Bateman (6), Buehrle (14) and Ashlynd Broling (19) are all ranked in the league's Top 20 for the 800 meter run.
The 5000 meter run will conclude the individual competition Sunday at 3:30 p.m. with Makenzie Jones (6), Emily Poole (12), Sophia Neglia (14) and Lesley Green (16), all ranked in the conference's Top 20.
