Michael Phillips
Michael Lee Phillips, 70, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga died on February 27, 2020.
Michael was born the son of the late Wesley and Bobbie (Fairbanks) Phillips on August 22, 1949. He was a retired fireman and paramedic for the City of Chattanooga and a former reservist of the U.S. Coast Guard and member of Sequoyah Church of God. Michael was a pilot, photographer, scuba diver and was passionate about radio-controlled planes, model rockets and guns. Michael will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Valla (Devine) Phillips.
He is survived by children, Sean (Cindy) Phillips, Sheri (Eric) Rominger and Shannon Mejia, brother, Danny (Beverly) Phillips and sister, Shirley Henshall, grandchildren, Mikayla, Gabriel, Evan, Lucy, Noah, Ethan, and Serena as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to The Forgotten Child Fund of Chattanooga.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29, and Sunday, March 1, from 1-2 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with interment at Chattanooga Memorial Park officiated by Pastors Jimmy and Larry Lindsey.
