Boys Region Quarterfinals Set For Saturday Night

With the girls’ region quarterfinals in the books, it’s time for the boys to take center stage on Saturday evening.

Once again, as in the ladies’ brackets, district champions and runners-up will play at home with the number threes and fours on the road. All games are set to tip at 7:00 p.m. local time.

In Class 1A’s Region 2, District 3 champ Oneida entertains Tellico Plains from District 4 and District 4 champion Lookout Valley is home against Wartburg Central. Sunbright travels to District 4 runner-up CSAS, while Sale Creek is on the road to Harriman.

Region 3, Class 2A sees District 6 champion Tyner entertaining District 5’s Polk Co.  District 5 winner Sweetwater is at home against Brainerd. Howard, the District 6 runner-up will be at home against McMinn Central. Red Bank will travel up the road to Loudon.

Bradley Central, the champ in District 5-3A, will be at home in Smiddy Arena against District 6’s Stone Memorial, while the champ from District 6, Warren County hosts Ooltewah. In runner-up action, District 5’s Cleveland hosts Cookeville and D6’s White County is home playing Walker Valley.

The 1A semifinals will be played at CSAS next Tuesday night, while the 2A tournament moves to East Ridge and Class 3A will be hosted by White County.

In a Division II-AA quarterfinal game, Baylor plays Brentwood Academy on the road, with a state tournament berth on the line.
