Nathan Hartwell Rice, 89, of Chattanooga passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020 at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ellen Rice.

Nathan is survived by his loving wife, Marna Rice, children, David Rice, Nate Rice, Colleen Joy, Mark Rice, Lynnita Gregory, Joel Rice, Ben Rice, Ewanah Rice and Velena Rice, 13 beautiful grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on February 5, 2020, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Glass officiating.  Interment will follow the service in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.  Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
