Diana Carol Meredith Lombard
Diana Carol Meredith Lombard, age 75, faithful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, pastor's wife, and follower of Jesus Christ, was welcomed to her eternal home on Thursday, March 12, 2020. after a rapid decline from Alzheimer's.
Diana was raised in Shepherdsville, Ky., and had lived in Cleveland, Tn. for the past 34 years.
Diana graduated from Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She married John A. Lombard, Jr. on July 31, 1964.
In her calling as pastor's wife for more than 50 years, Diana ministered in various roles, such as Children's Church, Sunday School, Church of God Ministerial Internship Program, and other ways. She was involved in mentoring many young men and women. The Lombards have pastored East Cleveland Church of God for more than 30 years.
She taught for many years at Algood Christian Academy and Cleveland City Schools. She retired while teaching at Blythe-Bower Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Kristin Lombard; her parents, Oral and Edna Meredith; and her siblings, Earl Meredith, Harold Meredith, Betty Wright, and Ronald Meredith.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John A. Lombard, Jr.; her daughters, Bethany Rachelle Lombard Flatt (Terry), Alisa Janine Lombard Nelson (Tim), and Dana Marie Lombard Crutchfield (Gerald "Jerry"); her grandchildren, Karen Lynn Flatt Eustice (Josh), Lauren Rachelle Flatt, Susan Carol Flatt Davis (Jared), Abigail Janine Nelson, Skylar Marie Crutchfield, and Tobyn Lombard Crutchfield; her great-granddaughter, Kara-Lyn Enola Eustice; and her siblings, Geneva Riggs, Leroy Meredith, Delores Green, Linda Rayhill and Stephen Meredith.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Pastor Barry Lombard officiating. The interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in McDonald.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the funeral home.
