Jerome Burch
Jerome Kern Burch, Sr., 73, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at his residence.
He attended Howard High School. He retired from the City of Chattanooga Public Works Department after serving over 50 years. He attended Truth Baptist Church at a very early age later joining Rock Island Baptist Church.
Jerome was preceded in death by his father, Randolph Banks; mother, Jimmie Lois Jones; brothers, William Burch and Larry Cole.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Burch; children, Cynthia (Anibal) Torres, Sharon (Kenneth) Richardson, Jerome (Sheryl) Burch, Deatrice (Allen) Gladden, Buffy Burch, DeVonna (Shawn) Dorton, Nakisha Franklin, and Rashika Crayton; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six siblings, David (Eleanor) Burch, Tara Henderson, Richard (Gloria) Jones, Michael (Carolyn) Jones, Myra (Elgin) Armstrong, and Tyrone (Tammy) Tillison; devoted friend, John Walker.
He will lie in state on Saturday, March 14, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Ronald B. Cook, Sr. as the eulogist. Entombment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
