Meredith Owens Jr., 75, of Hooker Georgia went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2020. 

Meredith was born August 31, 1944 to the late Meredith Owens Sr. and Edna Mae Roberts.  He was an Army E4 Specialist and Vietnam veteran.  He later retired from Tyson Foods.

Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his parents, Meredith and Edna Owens; his beloved, longtime wife, Edna M. Owens; sister, Harriett “Hope” Crawford. 

He is survived by his son, Meredith Owens III; daughters, Leslie Tucker of Jasper Tn. and Veronica Butler and Daphne Owens of Chattanooga Tn.; bonus daughters, Jennifer Owens, Jenny Tucker, Jackie Tucker, Libby Tucker; brothers, Rev. Larry M. (Virginia) Owens of Hooker Ga., Perry (Barbara) Owens of Chattanooga Tn., Carolyn (Wil) Beard of Ontario Ca., Sandra (Fred) Barge of Chicago IL.; 6 grandkids, Mequitta Owens, Kandis Owens, Corey Tucker, Taye Hutchins, Kennedy Owens, Sa’Riyah Mathis,; 3 great grandkids and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; one brother in law, Rev. Miles (Helen) Bivens of Stevenson AL.; sister in law, Rosa Bivens, Debra Sanders, Deneise (Al) Towensend, Gloria (Willie) Johnson, Charlene (Issiah) Cherry of Chattanooga Tn. 

Private services will be held and a public Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
