Valentine “Gerry” Klein Jr., 78, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 3, 2020.

He was born May 7, 1941, to the late Valentine George and Evelyn Roberts Klein. Gerry was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where he was a deacon, sound coordinator, and active at Camp Vesper Point. He worked at Miller Brothers & Lovemans, and retired from Goodwill Industries where he was the director of operations.

Gerry was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Klein Thurman and nephew, Larry Thurman.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Nancy Poole Klein, sons, Kip (Kim Fleming) Klein of Rock Spring and Charlie (Kim Spangler) Klein of Harrison, grandchildren Val George John Klein IV, Jacob Riley Klein, Charles David Klein, and Ethan Spangler Klein, and Nephew Fred Thurman.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church Chattanooga, 554 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. Gerry will be laid to rest at Chattanooga Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Vesper Point Care of First Presbyterian Church 554 McCallie Ave., and Changed Lives P.O. Box 100, Chattanooga, Tn. 37401.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
