Barbara Kelly
Barbara Jean Walston Kelly, 84, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 3, 2020, in Rossville, Georgia, after a long illness.
She was born March 2, 1936, in Chattanooga. She obtained her GED and worked many years in various occupations: Robert Hall Clothiers, Dr. Ellis and Sherrill's Office, and Chattanooga Coin and Stamp. Barbara enjoyed dancing, traveling, bird watching, laughing and helping people and animals. She cherished spending time and making memories with family and friends the most. She was a homemaker, caregiver, mentor and a devoted follower of Christ. Barbara was beautiful inside and outside, smart, funny, loving, artistic, passionate, witty and caring and will be missed by many.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Walston; her mother, Margaret Walston; siblings, June DeVore, Bill Walston, Fred Walston, and Joyce Walston; son, Richard Edward Hargraves, Jr.; and step granddaughter, Brie Harvill.
Those that will cherish and celebrate her life and memories are her husband of 24 years, Wayne Kelly; daughters, Brenda Wheeler (Ron) and Patti Touchstone (Jason); two stepchildren, Marsha Harvill (Charlie) and Douglas Kelly (Mary); four grandsons, Chris Hargraves (Marites), Patrick Hargraves (Katee), Richard E. Hargraves, III, and Nicholas Touchstone; three granddaughters, Shannan Sharpe, Jennifer Sharpe, and Abigail Touchstone; five step grandchildren, Josh McKee, Lacie Harvill, Shelby Kelly, Brianna Kelly, and Campbell Kelly; four great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; sister, Jo-Ann Robinson (Emmett); numerous nephews and nieces; great-nephews and nieces; and great-great-nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of NHC HealthCare, Rossville and Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent loving care they gave to Barbara.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, there will not be visitation or a service at this time.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
