William Holloway

William J. Holloway, 81, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

William was born March 2, 1939, to the late John W. and Lillie Vines Holloway. He was educated in the public schools of Chattanooga, graduating from Howard School in 1957. Mr. Holloway was a U.S. Army veteran and a retiree of Mueller Company. William was an active member of Second Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. (Lillie) Holloway; his wife, Bettye G. Holloway, brother, Arless (Bettye) Holloway, and a niece Deja Holloway.

He is survived by his stepson, Shannon (Ashley) Johnson, step grandson, Franklin Johnson; a sister, Atheria (Edward) Freeman of Chattanooga; brothers, Fred D. (Hazel) Holloway of Laveer, Az.; Johnny (Juanita) Holloway of Chattanooga; two aunts, several nieces and nephews; a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.

Private services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery, Dr. Ernest L. Reid, officiant.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Improvement fund at Second Missionary Baptist Church, in memory of William J. Holloway, 2305 E. 3rd St., Chattanooga, Tn. 37404.
