Loretta Garland Holtzhower, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, 61, is at peace on April 7, 2020, after a 2 1/2 year-courageous battle with cancer. She awaits the resurrection, God in his mercy has given us all hope for the future.

She was born Loretta Ann Garland on Dec. 29, 1958, the daughter of Arthur Ray Garland and Joyce Hughes Garland.

Loretta graduated from Daniel Boone High School, Gray, Tn. where she was part of the National Champion Daniel Boone, Boonette Precision Drill Team. She studied accounting and liked recording numbers. Loretta worked a few years doing the books for companies before becoming a stay at home Mom and homemaker while our children were young. Loretta volunteered for many school and athletic events with her three children.

Loretta joined her husband in their business in 2005 as partner and secretary treasurer.

She enjoyed time with her grandchildren more than anything. She also enjoyed riding with her husband and the Harley HOG Group especially overnight rides through the mountains.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Garland; brother, Brian Garland; grandson, Maxwell Eric Holtzhower.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Eddie Holtzhower, children, Michael Charles Holtzhower and wife Ashley Prendergast of Soddy Daisy, Eric Holtzhower and wife Katie, Ooltewah, Dawn Marie Lewis and husband Chris Canton, Ga., three grandchildren that she loved and enjoyed so much. Her heart melted every time she saw a post of them or when visiting Henry & William Holtzhower, and Jaxson Lewis, Mother: Joyce Garland, Jonesboro, Tn.; sister, Sharon Gardner and husband Kenny, Telford, Tn.

Memorial service to be announced and depending on options in next few weeks due to Coronavirus social distancing requirements possibly being lifted. If not, family may be limited to a grave side service in Johnson City, Tn. at a later date. We will post online and possibly in paper as we know more.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
