Nokian Tyres has hired Christy McDaniel as head of Supply Chain for the Americas region, a new position that will manage the premium tire manufacturer’s logistics, supply chain planning and customer service divisions.

Ms. McDaniel’s hire is the latest in a series of strategic moves Nokian Tyres has made to better supply and serve its growing portfolio of dealers throughout North America, said officials. The company opened a factory in Dayton last year that aims to strengthen customer relationships by shortening delivery lead times and tailoring the company’s product mix to the needs of North American drivers. Nokian Tyres intends to double sales in the region between 2018 and 2023.

Ms. McDaniel has two decades of experience organizing logistics and supply chain processes across a variety of industries. She joins Nokian Tyres from Danaher Corporation, where she served in global leadership roles for multiple subsidiaries. She has also worked for globally known brands Kimberly-Clark, Pfizer and BASF. A University of Tennessee graduate, Ms. McDaniel earned a Master of Business Administration at Union University.

“Christy has extensive background in all areas of supply chain and has worked for several international companies," said Nokian Tyres Global Vice President of Supply Chain Norbert Hecking. "She will help drive supply chain excellence so we can reach our growth targets."

“As our regional growth plan unfolds, Christy will help us synchronize and scale our operations,” said Nokian Tyres Senior Vice President, Americas Mark Earl. “We’re happy to welcome her to the team and eager to witness the impact this new position will have.”

Founded and headquartered in Finland, Nokian Tyres invented the winter and all-weather tires and continues to craft premium products in all major passenger segments, including the all-season tire market. At the company’s new North American factory, it aims to fill expanding North American demand and seize on opportunities in the all-season and all-weather segments. Nokian Tyres’ regional headquarters office in Nashville and its sales team throughout the continent is helping to organize that growth process.

The company is preparing to introduce new products for North American drivers in the coming months and years.
