Robert King
Robert “Kae” King Jr. was born on January 9, 1959, to Jacquelyn “Jackey” King and Robert Riser King, Sr. in Chattanooga. He transitioned this life on May 25, 2020 at his home in Chattanooga.
Kae attended and graduated from Notre Dame High School In 1977, where he was a standout athlete and basketball player. He later attended and played basketball at Earlham College and Chattanooga State Technical College.
Robert was a member of Basilica Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
He was retired and an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He was an encourager to everyone he came into contact with, especially his Facebook friends. He always celebrated and let everyone know about his family’s birthdays and other milestones.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandmother, Ollie M. Burney; paternal grandfather and grandmother, Robert (Maria) King; brother, Dexter King.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Felicia; children, Tia (Roger) Woods, John Holloway, Torrey (Cassandra) Hunter, Correy (Devonna) Hunter, Angelic King, Farrah King, Kobe Bragg, and Kyria King; mother Jacquelyn “Jackey” King; Father, Robert Riser King; siblings, Gwen Thompson and Chuck McClellan; aunt, Jean (Usher) Overton, San Diego, CA; cousin, Kenneth (Sarah) Overton, San Diego, CA; 14 grandchildren and host of other cherished relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 2, from 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m. A private family service will follow.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
