Rosie Virginia Louise Ragsdale, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2020, in a local hospital surrounded by her two devoted children.  

She attended Howard High School and Washington Hills United Methodist Church.  She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to all who needed her. 

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bertha Lenear; sisters, Arewillder Carson, Betty Sims, and Christine Burton; and soulmate, Jeff Fields. 

Survivors include her son, Alvin Renard (LaVerne) Ragsdale; daughter, Arewillder (Chaus) Fields-Neal, both of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; devoted ex-husband, Alvin Ragsdale; special friend, Melvin Freeman; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

She will lie in state on Friday, June 19, from 1:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Family services will be on Saturday, June 20, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Terryl James as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
