Worked As A Nurse's Aid At Children's Hospital And Fort Oglethorpe Nursing Center

Nella Jean James, 87, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia,  passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020.  

A native of Gadsden, Al., Jean was a member of Rossville Church of the Nazarene.  She had worked as a nurse's aid at Children’s Hospital and Fort Oglethorpe Nursing Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Lester H. James; parents, Willie and Rose Fountain; sister, Jewell Marie Fountain and two brothers, Guthrie Ray Fountain and Alfred Fountain.

Survivors include her grandchildren who held a special place in her heart, Callie Scroggins and Cody Scroggins; siblings, Jackie Bankston, Paul Fountain, Jerry Fountain, Dr. Charles Fountain and Ann Jamison; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 12 PM Thursday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with her brother, Dr. Charles Fountain officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
