Why Did We Stay Home To Begin With? - And Response

  • Saturday, June 6, 2020

As we start to open up most businesses and see the cases of COVID-19 increase everyday, why did we even close in the first place? It just seems to me that we should just have kept our distances, worn our masks, and washed our hands in the first place and went about our business.

I was all for staying inside to help with the spread of COVID-19 but now it just seems like it was a joke.

As we test more, we will have a big increase of cases and those people who don't know they have it will continue to infect others.

Why did we stay home, losing our income, scrambling for hand sanitizer, toliet paper and masks you ask, Mr Martin? Because we are the victims of the extreme hyping, the panic-causing, and the abetting of fear and hatred of our fellow citizens — all caused by the extreme leftist news media from all angles; TV, Cable News, bloggers, self-appointed elites, social media (especially that one), et al.

Your suggested solutions to the media-induced panic against the WuHan virus was spot on.  I am in the highest death rate age bracket so I stayed home (easy enough; I’m retired), wore my home-made mask and kept my distance while out in the world or shopping.

The only thing we need to do to overcome the virus is “Keep Calm and Carry On” — and STOP listening to the fear-mongering Chicken Little’s in our news media.  Only five billionaires own the great majority of our chain newspapers, and they have one agenda — Fear, mayhem, bad news (and sex) sells newspapers/gets clicks.  It’s the money…always follow the money.
