Michael E. Boutwell, Sr., 74, of Georgetown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 13, 2020.

 

Mr. Boutwell was born and raised in Augusta, Ga., to the late Ray and Mary Lee Boutwell. He was a graduate of George P. Butler High School.  After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served with the 4th Infantry Division in the Vietnam War.  He was awarded the Army Air Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.  Michael attended Ooltewah Methodist Church and was self-employed.  He was happiest on his farm with his family and dog.

 

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Regina Boutwell; children, Michael (Laura) Boutwell, Jr.; Melanie Ferguson, Melissa (Jonathan) Tronolone and Jerry Ferguson; 11 grandchildren; sister, Judy Boutwell Reaves; and many nieces and nephews that he adored.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Richard and Kelly Boutwell.

 

There will not be any visitation at the funeral home.

 

Graveside services will be on Tuesday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Dr. Dwight Kilbourne officiating and full military honors by the American Legion Post 95.

Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
