Saturday night's biggest race of the season so far in 2020 is just days away, as Fort Payne Motor Speedway presents the 13th Annual Firecracker 50 for Super Late Models.
Past events have garnered such talent as Riley Hickman of Ooltewah (the only multi-winner of the event), last year's winner Aaron Ridley of Chatsworth, Sam Seawright of Fort Payne just to name a few.
The over $15,000 total purse will draw some heavy hitters including some local talent expected to pull double duty in multiple classes.
Current runner up in UCRA 604/Crate points Kasey Hall of Geraldine, is expected to debut his new "Back the Blue" (#13) SLM Saturday. Georgian Casey Turman has multiple FPMS wins this season as does Tennesseean Andy Pickelsimer.
The previous $4,000 SLM winner was Alabama's Josh Putnam back in late February at the BAMA BRAWL. In all nine classes will be contested Saturday night with a Fireworks display from Oliver Fireworks.
The Red Clay 602/Sportsman division will debut Saturday at FPMS with a special $1,000 to-Win feature. Grandstands open at 5 Pp.m. CST Saturday with races beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $15 and Pit Access is $35.
