Betty Scott
Betty “Pat” Ruth Scott, 73, of LaFayette, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020.
She was a lifelong member of Corinth Baptist Church. Pat retired from Shaw Industries in Dalton after 30 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Alpina Johnson; sisters, Joan “Pete” Fickey and Linus Johnson; and brother, Dale Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Scott; daughter, Shawna Larae Broome; son, Michael Von Baker; stepdaughter, Karen Elizabeth Scott; grandchildren, Amber (Jeremy)Cruise, Kendall (Ashley) Baker, Blaine (Emily) Broome, and Kaitlynn (Will Mefford) Broome; great grandchildren, Brody Cruise, Justin Cruise, Kaine Baker, Beckett Broome, and Cooper Broome; sisters, Margaret McWhorter, Polly Parrish, and Star House; brothers, Joe Johnson, Leon Johnson, Leland Johnson, and Steve Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and her lifelong friend, Jan Timmons.
Funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, at Corinth Baptist Church with visitation an hour prior to the service at the church. Pastors Jimmy Weaver and Steve Stanfield will officiate.
Interment will be at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Daniel Johnson, Jeremy Cruise, Kendall Baker, Will Mefford, Justin Cruise, and Blaine Broome. Honorary pallbearers are Kaine Baker and Brody Cruise.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
