Espy, Lilla Van Wyck (Rock Spring)

Lilla Van Wyck Espy, 85, of Rock Spring, formerly of Chickamauga, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020, in Colbert, Oklahoma.

She was very rich and deep in her Baptist faith. She was a member of Cassandra Baptist Church in Chickamauga. Lilla retired from North Georgia Community Action as a Director.  

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Jimmy “Jim” Bryant Espy; and parents, Clayton Victor Van Wyck and Jimmie Alma Story.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Hillary) Dean of Oklahoma; sons, Douglas Espy of Louisiana and David James (Dee) Espy of Cloudland, Ga.; grandchildren, Nathaniel Espy, Rachelle Dean and Shannon Dean.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Glenn Roberts officiating.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 p.m. until service hour.

Interment will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 1:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
