U.S. Air Force Veteran Retired From Central Soya And Con Agra

Mack Shelton Crawley, 87, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020.  

Born in Dalton, Ga., he was a member of Bayside Baptist Church and the ROMEO Club.  Mack was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Russian Linguist on ferret missions in Germany and also sang in the Air Force Choir.  He was retired from Central Soya and Con Agra.

Mack and his wife were big supporters of Central High School and were members of the Central High School Alumni Association.  They also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.  Mack had been on the Hamilton County School Board.

He was past president of the Harrison Ruritan Club and a member of The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.  He and his wife loved to travel after his retirement.  Mack was also an avid Bridge player.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C. F. and Velma Crawley and his wife, Janette Castle Crawley. 

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Elizabeth Crawley of Houston; son, Keith (Lesha) Crawley of Cleveland; granddaughters, Emily Taylor Crawley and Abby Elizabeth Crawley; brother, Larry Crawley of Ringgold.

Private funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge.  The service will be live streamed on Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel’s Facebook page for those wishing to attend remotely.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
