SMBC Celebrates 154th Anniversary

Saturday, August 1, 2020
The public is invited to join in celebrating the 154th Church Anniversary at Second Missionary Baptist Church through live streaming on Facebook or at smbchurch.org on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 11 a.m.

Guest speaker will be Dr. Mark Croston, executive pastor of Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville.  Dr. Croston is the national director of Black Church Ministries, Lifeway Christian Resources, Nashville.

The 2020 Theme is "Stewardship:  Fulfilling God’s Mission, Sharing Our Gifts," using the scriptural reference from Colossians 3:23-24.  The text reads,  "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human matters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.  It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

The anniversary co-chairs are Reginald and Francine Brown.  The Rev.
Dr. Ernest L. Reid, Jr., is pastor of SMBC, 2305 E. Third St., in Chattanooga.
