Jeffrey Monroe Ellis, 52, of Cleveland, passed away on August 6, 2020. He was born on Aug. 10, 1967 to Donald and Juanita Ellis. Jeff was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He has lived in the Cleveland area for the past 26 years. He was an instructional assistant for the Special Education Department at Cleveland High School, where he also served as the videographer for the softball team. Jeff was also involved in Theatre and was a part of the Ocoee Theatre. He was a fan of baseball, especially the Cincinnati Reds. Above all things, Jeff loved his family and spending time with them.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry Ellis and Vance and Mayme Gaines.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 20 years, Amanda Wolfe Ellis; children, Parker Ellis, Bryson Ellis, Jamison Ellis and Brooke Ellis; parents, Donald and Juanita Ellis; in-laws, Sharon Chaney and Bud Wolfe (Linda); siblings, Bruce Ellis (Robin) and Hope Zeis (Sean); and grandmother, Mildred Ellis.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Companion Funeral Home, 2419 Georgetown Road, NW in Cleveland. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home following visitation. The service will be live-streamed on the facebook page of Companion Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 circumstances, the family requests that only family and close friends come to the service and practice distancing while at the funeral home.
Jeff will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
