Catoosa And Whitfield Counties Have New Coronavirus Deaths; Georgia Adds 83 More To The Death Toll

Georgia state health officials reported on Thursday there have been an additional 83 deaths due to the coronavirus. The new total is 4,538.

There were 2,674 new cases as that total reached 228,668 confirmed cases of coronavirus. 

Hospitalizations are at 21,581 - up 202 since Wednesday. 

Catoosa County recorded one more death from the virus, and Whitfield County had two more deaths.  

Here are the numbers by county:

Catoosa County: 686 cases, up 9; 11 deaths, up 1; 55 hospitalizations, up 1

Chattooga County: 324 cases, up 22; 4 deaths; 15 hospitalizations

Dade County: 138, cases, up 2; 2 deaths; 9 hospitalizations

Walker County: 760 cases, up 18; 16 deaths, down 1; 39 hospitalizations

Whitfield County: 3,654 cases, up 33; 34 deaths, up 1; 183 hospitalizations, up 1

The cases remain centered around the Atlanta area:

Cobb County: 14,463 cases; 332 deaths

DeKalb County: 14,563 cases; 251 deaths

Fulton County: 21,373 cases; 462 deaths

Gwinnett County: 20,900 cases; 282 deaths
