U.S. Air Force Veteran Worked For The Chattanooga Police Department And Hamilton County Sheriff's Office

Thomas Edward Beavers, 90, of Georgetown, died on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at his home.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1930, in Chattanooga to the late Herbert and Sarah Beavers. A son, Michael Beavers; and a brother, Donnie Beavers, preceded him in death.

Mr. Beavers was a member of Fidelity lodge # 558 FM., and the Alhambra Shrine. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Mr. Beavers worked for the Chattanooga Police Department, then as a detective for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, and retired from the Silverdale Workhouse as assistant warden.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, June Beavers; son, Richard (Pattie) Beavers; grandchildren, Casey Beavers and Brent Beavers; great grandchildren, Mark Beavers, James Beavers, and Skylar Beavers; brother, Dale (Elizabeth Beavers; and a sister, Linda (Raymond) Simcox.

Graveside services for family and close friends will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or to St. Jude Children’s hospital.
