Harry Lewis Spillman, Sr., 84, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, in a local health care facility.
Harry was the son of the late Emil Spillman, Jr. and Mabel Hogarth Spillman.
He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration as an Aviation Safety Inspector and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with over 20 years of service, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force, Eastern Airlines, Saudia Airlines, and Viscount Air Services, where he was the pilot for the Eagles during their Hell Freezes Over Tour, as well as for the Rolling Stones World Tour during the 1990s. He is preceded in death by a brother, Emil Vincent Spillman, III.
Surviviors includedd his son, Harry (Lila Statom) Spillman, Jr, Chattanooga; three daughters, Elizabeth (Michael) Moore, Union Grove, Al.; Sylvia Robinson, Fayetteville, Tn.; Tracy Ford Spillman, Addison, Tx..; six grandchildren, Albert Robinson, Josh Robinson, Ashley Roberts, Zack Statom, Rose Gomez and Chelsey Starnes, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephew: Ed Spillman, Yvette Poling, Nell Spillman.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 6, in National Cemetery.
