Anita Rochelle Miller Love Banks, 45, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, in a local hospital.  

She played in the band at Brainerd High School and graduated in 1993.  She also played in the UTC band while receiving her bachelor’s degree as a graphic designer.  Anita was a member of St. Paul AME Church.  She was a volunteer and advocate for Cosplay, LGBTQ, and Chattaoine Communities.  She was crowned Chattanooga’s first black female for the Rose of Hope PEARL.

She was preceded in death by her son, Clifford Banks III. 

Survivors include her husband of 8 years, Clifford Banks, Jr., parents, Anthony and Sandra Miller, Sr. of Chattanooga; mother-in-law, Ruby Banks Turner of Atlanta, GA; brother, Anthony Miller, Jr. of Chattanooga; brothers-in-law, Nick (Shalaina) Banks and Reverend Kenneth (Donna) Love; sister-in-law, Tracia Miller; a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

Anita will lie in state on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Family service will be on Thursday, Aug. 6, at noon in the chapel with Dr. Pedro Basden officiating and Dr. Kenneth Love as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
