Glenda Norman Hasty
Glenda Norman Hasty, 67, of LaFayette, Georgia, departed this life Sunday afternoon, August 2, 2020, at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She was born Nov. 19, 1952 in Lafayette, Ga. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Matthew Norman, husband of 42 years, Shelby Jahue Hasty.
She was a retired Whitfield County School bus driver for over 40 years. She was the founding member of the Southern Gospel Group The Hasty's, with her husband Shelby and their daughters Catrina and Stacey. They traveled and sang for 25 years all over the United States. In 2016 Glenda became the third member of the trio group Ordained Chapel Valley Artist.
She is survived by her mother, Catherine Beatrice Norman of Lafayette, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Catrina Rachelle and Greg Headrick of Ringgold, GA, Stacey Renee and Creed Wilson of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Levi Seth Witt, Preston Wade Witt, Emma Rebekah Grace Witt; stepchildren, Desma Bowers Soddy Daisy, TN, Cindy Johnson of Ringgold, GA, Tina Hasty Nealey of Tunnel Hill, GA; siblings, Kenneth Lamar and Carolyne Norman of Ider, AL, Elise Mae Norman, Tommy Wayne Norman, Lynn and Rich Snider of Lafayette, GA; special niece and nephews, April Michael Floyd Strange, Michael Kelly Floyd, Robert Leslie Floyd; five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Glenda B. Norman Hasty will be held Sunday, Aug. 9, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Steve Spears, Reverend Gladden Cole and Reverend Frankie Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Dunagan Cemetery with Grant Floyd, Leslie Floyd, Randy Snider, Kevin Norman, Matthew Norman and Brandon Smith serving as pallbearers. Timothy Harsman, Lamar Hooper, Dallas Rodgers, Dusty Thompson and Douglas Davis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday.
