Wanda Lou Cox Adler went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
Wanda was 78 years old and was living in Ringgold, Ga., with her grandson during her brief illness. She had formerly lived in Jasper, Tn., then made her final earthly home in Clarksville, Tn. Wanda was born on July 8, 1942, to Thomas and Nellie Cox in Rockwood, Tn..
She was of the Church of God faith and a member of the Living Church of God Church in Clarksville, Tn. Wanda had been employed for over 30 years with Steel Mill in Chicago, as the Security Manager. As her family stated, Wanda loved her family, adored taking care of others, was a selfless woman and she touched everyone’s hearts that came to know her. In her pastime, she loved cooking, gardening, traveling, music and dancing.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Nellie Cox; grandson, Thomas Leon Vasquez; sister, Sue Simcox; daughter-in-law, Jana Turner Shelley and son-in-law, Juan Julian Vasquez.
Those left to cherish her fondness memories are her husband, Allen Adler, son, Jerry Lynn Shelley, Jr.; daughters, Tamara Lynn White and Deborah Sue Vasquez; nine grandchildren, Anthony Levon (Melissa) Johnson, Gabe (Abbey) Johnson, Tony Colston, Lupe (Christopher Turner) Johnson, Juan (Katie) Vasquez, Matthew (Heather Smith) Vasquez, Eva (Shane Ahmed) Vasquez and Carly (Zachary) Hensley and 28 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
