Rosetta Sherlyn Tipton McClellan, 85, peacefully transitioned to eternal life on Monday, September 21, 2020, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She was born on March 16, 1935, along with her younger twin sister, Jonetta, to proud parents, James Tipton and Ernestine Fearn Tipton.

Rosetta was educated in the Chattanooga City School System and graduated from Howard High School in 1955. While at Howard, she and Jonetta were members of the Duchess Social Club.
Following high school, Rosetta and Jonetta began their careers at Memorial Hospital as Nurse’s Aides. Rosetta worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at Parkridge Hospital and retired from there after 30 years of service. Rosetta was a member of Stanley United Methodist Church where she attended faithfully until her health declined.She was also a member of the Les Jeune Amies (The Young Friends) Bridge Club and the Couples Club.

Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents, James Tipton and Ernestine Fearn Few and stepfather, John Sydney Few. Her twin sister, Jonetta Hunter, preceded her as well in July of this year. She will be met by a host of relatives and close friends as she enters her heavenly home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted son, James (Tonya) B. McClellan, III and his father, James B. McClellan, Jr.; grandchildren, Tia McClellan, Orlando, FL; Petty Officer 3rd Class, James B. McClellan, IV, Norfolk, VA; Joseph T. McClellan, Orlando, FL; Jamaal Talley, Sr. and Ashley Talley of Chattanooga; great grandsons, Jeremiah Talley, Joshua Talley and Jamaal Talley, Jr.  Also cherishing her memory are her loving nieces in Detroit, MI, Charmaine Lynette Hunter, Millicent Ernestine Bell and Sherlyn Alessaundra Hunter and their father, her brother in law, Charles Hunter; great niece, Maryia (Stephan) Bell White and great nephew, Charles Bell; sister-in-law, Countess Ramseur and her children, Lydia Scott and Natalie (John) McClarty; many cousins and close friends.

A public viewing will be held from 2–6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the funeral home. A private funeral service will be held.
