Lizarrius Rice
LiZarrius Dewayne “Dee” Rice, 24, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2020, in a hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.
He was a 2015 graduate of Brainerd High School. He loved to be around his family, but his pride and joy was being in the music studio recording. He was an upcoming rapper with many songs produced. He kept a smile on his face and loved to talk with family.
LiZarrius was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Daisy Mills, John and Carolyn Rice; grandfather, Joseph Thornton; uncle, Anthony Rice; aunts, Barbara Rice and Theodoshie Rice.
Survivors include his fiancée, Deaisha Watkins; son, Desyion Watkins; mother, Stephanie Rice; father, Shannon Mills; grandmothers, Terry Rice and Jeanette Thornton; brothers, Camarrius (Cumesha Cates) Rice, J’Darrius Rice, Paul Lavender, and Keshon Rice; sisters, Shantasia Mills, Paullisia Lavender, and Kaniah Henderson, all of Chattanooga; aunts, Beverly Varnell of Orlando, FL, Gabrielle Malone, Shavonne Mills, Tiffanie Turner, and Victoria Gates, all of Chattanooga; uncles, Stanley (Joanna) Rice of Houston, Texas, Nijel Winfield and Marcus (Vera) Mills, both of Chattanooga; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and special friends.
He will lie in state on Friday, Sept. 25, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
A family service will be on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Eundra Porter as the eulogist. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
