At the Fort Payne (Ala.) Motor Speedway, Dillon Tidemore (#38) of Glencoe dominated the annual Labor Day Super Late Model Extravaganza for the second consecutive year. Tidemore scored $4,000 for his efforts holding off two-time Dirt Track World Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga and local hot-shoe Sam Seawright. Jason Heitt of Oxford was fourth just ahead of Signal Mountain's Heath Hindman. Ooltewah's Riley Hickman was seventh just ahead of Chattanooga's Todd Hernandez.

Next weekend the United Championship Racing Alliance 604/Crate Late Models invade the speedway for the annual "Fort Payne 40" event that pays $2,500 to-Win.

At Mountain View Raceway an early morning Late Model feature victory went to Cleveland's John Ownbey Saturday night/Sunday morning.
Ownbey (#J0) held off Harrison's Ethan Hunter and Friday night's I-75 Raceway winner Jason Manley of Loudon. Cleveland racer Ryan Tims was fifth and David Doss was 11th overall.

Monster Trucks invade Mountain View Raceway next weekend, according to the track's website MountainViewRaceway.com.

Brandon Overton again showed his dominance winning his fourth most recent World of Outlaws Late Model series feature Saturday night at Lancaster (S.C.) Speedway, taking over local race leader Johnny Pursley on lap 12. Overton in his #76 "Crossfit, AllStar Concrete, EZ-GO, Big Dog Stump & Tree, R.W. Powell Construction" sponsored Wells Motorsports/Longhorn race car earned another $10,000 for his efforts holding off Canadian Ricky Weiss and local Ross Bailes. Series points leader Brandon Sheppard of Illinois was fourth just ahead of Dennis Erb Jr. Tennessean Scott Bloomquist was 22nd overall.

In Portsmouth, Ohio, tragedy struck one Dirt Late Model famed family. Pennsylvania racer, former National Champion Rick Eckert's, five-year-old grandson Lennox was airlifted to Lehigh Valley Burn Center after receiving burns while in the pit area Saturday. When refueling a race car, the fuel ignited and got onto the child.

All tracks Saturday offered prayers to the Eckert family in their time of need.

Tennessean Jimmy Owens (#20) was beaten by Indiana's Hudson O'Neal (#71) with a lap 37 pass. Georgian Shane Clanton was fifth, while Friday's winner Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville was seventh overall. Both series make way for next weekend's Intercontinental Classic Invitational at Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway in Ohio.

In Maryville, the Smoky Mountain Speedway kicked off the Fall Nationals live on DirtonDirt.com. West Tennessee's Mike Marlar (#157) took over from Mosheim's Vic Hill after the leader made slight contact with a backmarker race car. Marlar held off the hard-charging Austin Kirkpatrick who started 10th and Dale McDowell for the $5,000 payday. Marlar was third Friday in Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model series competition in Kentucky. Early leader Hill finished fourth just ahead of North Carolina's David Payne. The series travels northeast of Knoxville Sunday to Tazewell Speedway for the annual Buddy Rogers Memorial.
