Debra Scott
Debra Pheobie Scott, 67, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021, in a local hospital.
She was born on Sept. 11, 1953, in Chattanooga, to the late Catherine Fortson and James Harvey. Debra was a lifelong member of Tucker Baptist Church. She was a part of Riverside High School class of 1971. She received a GED and certificate for cooking and baking from Chattanooga State. Debra was formerly employed by Erlanger. She worked for Hamilton County Head Start as a bus monitor. She was formerly employed by Mr. Lewis Card. Debra was currently employed by Janice Henderson Card for many years. She was an avid baker, and often baked cakes and other sweet treats for her family and friends.
Debra was preceded in death by her grandparents, Annie and Ben Fortson.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur “Bo” Scott; children, Kerry Fortson, Keith (Keisha) Fortson, and Devins Scott, Sr.; grandchildren, Devins Scott, Jr., Kerry Fortson, Jr., and Kendall Fortson; mother-in-law, Lucille Scott; sister, Errical Trammel; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Joann) Scott; sister-in-law, Janice Scott; uncle, Charles Harvey, Jr.; aunts, Wally Fortson and Alice Watson; niece, Clydia Trammel; devoted friends, Jocelyn Moon, Kenneth Parks. and Olivia Bowens; devoted cousin, Gwen (Winford) Davis; and a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Debra will lie in state on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Family services will be on Monday, Feb. 1, at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Gary Hathaway as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
