Ella Kate Osment, 93, of Cleveland, passed away on January 20, 2021 and joined her beloved husband, Harry. She was born on Aug. 7, 1927 to the late Fred and Ethel Rapier. Ella was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was also regularly active in the Ladies Auxiliary, serving as president for many years. Kate also worked with Hermes here in Cleveland for many years and loved the people there. Above all, she was a loving wife and mother.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Osment; and siblings, Elmer Rapier, Louise Clark, Rebecca Clabo, Jenny Land, Doris Higson, Sonny Rapier and Wilma Wilson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her three daughters, Sherry Geren (Dale), Denise Dyke (Bryan) and Pam Guinn (Jeff); siblings, Steve Rapier, Jessie Barker and Frances Dillard; grandchildren, David Geren (Lisa), Brandie Moore (Brian), Maria West (Josh), Andrew Guinn (Yaqian), Chelsea Varnell (Chris), Heath Chamberlin and Chase Guinn; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brett, Chase, Maggie, Reily, Hayden, Landen, Kayla, Harper, Hudson, Donnie, Billy, Ella, Kateland, Ethan, Ava and Andi. In addition to these, she leaves behind numerous extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
A celebration of Kate’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Bethel Baptist Church, with visitation prior from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Kate will be laid to rest following the service in the church cemetery. The family requests that masks be worn at the service and social distancing be practiced as much as possible.
