James Edward Haynes, 72, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at his residence in Georgia.

 He attended Atlanta Public School and graduated from Booker T. Washington.  He was a Deacon and Musician at Solid Anchor Baptist Church.

 James was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Sarah Haynes; brother, William Anderson; sisters, Mary Gilbert and Gertrude Reeves.

 Survivors include his wife of six years, Mary Haynes; sons, Dwanney (Cynthia) Hill and Glenn McClarin, both of Atlanta; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Billy (Beulah Mae) Haynes of Jonesboro and Bobby (Janice) Haynes of Decatur; sisters, Diane (John) Digby and Jeanette Haynes, all of Decatur; special friends, Detra Shackleford, Tina Cobb, Stephany Fuget, and Ms. Dozier, all of Chattanooga; many Tennessee friends; a host of other relatives and friends.

James will lie in state Monday, January 25, 2021, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 1 p.m. in Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Decatur, GA with Pastor Lisa Haynes as the eulogist.
